The 2019 Maryland Regional Junior Science and Humanities Symposium (JSHS) competition will be held at St. Mary’s College of Maryland on March 30.
Vice Adm. Dean Peters, Naval Air Systems Command commander, will be the guest speaker. This event is free and open to the public. Attendees will have the opportunity to watch student presentations, hear from speakers, and participate in campus tours.
The Patuxent Partnership, a non-profit organization that fosters collaboration between government, industry, and academia is managing the regional JSHS program in collaboration with St. Mary’s College of Maryland.
Sponsored jointly by the U.S. Army, Navy, and Air Force, the JSHS program promotes original STEM research and experimentation at the high school level by fostering creativity and academic achievement.
JSHS regional and national symposia are held during the academic year and reach more than 8,000 high school students and teachers throughout the United States, Puerto Rico, and the Department of Defense Schools of Europe and the Pacific Rim.
