St. Mary's County Business, Education and Community Alliance (BECA)
The St. Mary's County Business, Education and Community Alliance (BECA) manage a Common Scholarship Application which allows qualified students to choose from 48 different local scholarships with one application. Each year in January, BECA hosts a Scholarship Fair at the James Forrest Career and Technology Center. The event is open to the public and students are invited in to speak with Scholarship providers and attend mini-training on financial aid options.
Maryland Emergency Management Assocation/Donald "Doc" Lumpkins Memorial Scholarship Program
The Maryland Emergency Management Association is accepting applications for the 2020 Donald “Doc” Lumpkins Memorial Scholarship Program. One $1,000 scholarship is being offered by the MDEMA for Area V – Southern Maryland (Calvert, Charles, and St. Mary’s Counties). The MDEMA developed the scholarship program to nurture, promote, and develop future emergency management professionals by furthering the educations of students studying emergency management. It is the objective of MDEMA to financially assist students pursuing an associate or baccalaureate degree in emergency management or a closely related field. Applications for the MDEMA scholarships and additional information can be found at www.marylandema.org or www.co.saint-marys.md.us/es/ema. The deadline for applications is April 3, 2020.
